The close checklist and journal entries

What the apprentices do

  1. Reader pulls payouts, fees and refunds from Stripe and the matching entries from your ledger.

  2. Checker ties out every payout and lists anything that doesn’t match to the cent.

  3. Drafter prepares the journal entries and the close checklist with each exception explained.

  4. Clerk files the checklist and posts the entries as drafts for your accountant.

Where it stops for you

Nothing is posted to your books. Entries land as drafts and the close checklist waits for a signature from finance.

What it needs

  • Stripe and Xero or QuickBooks

  • A read-only Postgres role for internal records

  • Your chart of accounts
